Zelma Jean Cooper, age 76 , of Erie, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025 at her residence. She was born in Erie on October 24, 1948, a daughter of the late Howard and Aileen Darr Kerner.
Jeannie worked in administration for the VA Hospital for 22 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Carla Amendola and two brothers Howie Kerner and Mark Kerner.
She is survived by her husband Jerry Dean Cooper, a son, Guy Amendola and his wife Heather both of Erie, and her granddaughter Emily Amendola of South Carolina. She is further survived by her sister, Kathy Cassano and brothers, Pat Kerner and his wife Karen, Charles Kerner and his wife Paula, and Daniel Kerner.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Colony Pub and Grille, 2670 W. 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505. If you plan to attend, please send an email to Jerry Cooper at jerrycooper1956@yahoo.com so he can get a headcount.
