Virgil “Chip” Glen Markey III, age 54 of Erie, passed away on January 24, 2026, at Saint Vincent Hospital.
He was born in Erie, PA, on May 1, 1971, a son of the late Virgil Glen Markey Jr and Theresa Maziarz Markey
Chip graduated from Fairview High School in 1990. He worked as a lifeguard at the YMCA for many years. He loved martial arts, shooting, the mountains and biking.
He is survived by several wonderful friends.
Services were held at the convenience of the family, burial at St. Brigids Cemetery in Meadville, PA.
Arrangements entrusted to the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East. Girard.
