Tyco V. Swick, age 86, passed away on Monday November 10, 2025 at LECOM Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born on July 21, 1939 in Oil City, PA to the late Dr. H. Vernon and Ebba Lange Swick.

Tyco graduated from Strong Vincent High School in 1957 and then served in the U.S. Army Reserve for 6 years. Following the military, he earned a degree from Penn State University. He was a lifelong Nittany Lions football fan. In 1963, he became Executive Director of the Erie Center for the Blind, now known as the Sight Center of Northwest Pennsylvania, a position he held until 2009. He then served in various support roles until 2022.

Tyco was a 60-year member of the Erie Lions Club and in 1972 was appointed game manager for the Save-An-Eye Football Game, a position he held for 56 years. He designed and built the famous eyeglasses that the players run through at the start of each game. Tyco received numerous prestigious awards for his service and in 2010 he was inducted into the Metropolitan Erie Chapter Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame.

Most meaningful to him was his faith and family. His favorite Bible verse was “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10).

Tyco is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sharon Haise Swick; his children, Sarah Swick, Rachel Bock (Jim), Rebecca Swick (Dan Postlewaite), Martha Swick (Mary L. McDade); his grandchildren Tyco Bock, Chloe Titus (Colton), Jonah Bock (Mara), Ethan Bock; and great granddaughter Naomie, all of Erie.
