Timothy J. Theisen passed peacefully on August 7, 2024, after sustaining injuries in an accident. Timothy was born in Wausau, Wisconsin on June 3, 1951, the son of the late Eugene and Phyllis Theisen.
Timothy had an idyllic childhood in Wisconsin where he spent time exploring the woods, playing sports, and enjoying Blue Lake. Timothy excelled in school and in sports. Timothy had a great passion for literature and poetry, which he continued to cultivate until his last days. The Theisen family moved to Pennsylvania when Timothy was a teenager and subsequently, Timothy graduated from Corry High School. Timothy earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Gannon University, where he focused his studies on 17th century metaphysical poetry. After college, Timothy formed the band “Wave” with his two brothers and sister, backed by a seven-piece band. For nearly a decade, they enjoyed great success in the Erie area and toured the east coast from Boston to Tampa.
Timothy was a natural entertainer with an amazing voice. He could play piano and keyboards by ear and was happiest when singing and playing drums. Timothy was still actively performing as a musician until his accident. Timothy was a loving father/grandfather to his son Timothy (Jo) M. Theisen, his daughter Erin Chivers, and grandson Burke Chivers. Timothy is survived by two brothers, Jeffrey and Thomas Theisen; one sister, Anne Ferrando; and “the mother of his children, Darlene McMichael.". Timothy was full of energy and love and had a charismatic and outgoing personality that will not soon be forgotten.
A funeral mass will be held at Saint Jude on August 24, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Timothy’s family will host a celebration of life in his honor at the Riverside Brewing Company September 21st. There will be a quick ceremony at 4:30 and the band starts at 5:00pm. Food and drinks offered, and anyone is welcome who knew and loved my father is welcome to join and celebrate his life.
