Thomas Patrick Slye

Thomas Patrick Slye, age 58, of Erie, passed away Monday, May 5, 2025, at UPMC Hamot Hospital. He was born on November 5, 1966, in Kokomo, Indiana to Larry and Patricia Slye.

Thomas was a communication specialist for PCMSI in Erie. He was a quiet, deeply analytical person who loved researching genealogy, tending his aquariums and garden, and preserving the harvest through canning. He also had a lifelong passion for MOPAR cars, firearms, and caring for all kinds of pets. He was the family tech support, the planner of road trips, and a steady presence in our lives. He was a proud member of Alpha Phi Omega and Delta Chi.

He is survived by his wife, Shawna (Squires) Slye, his children, Chloe Runninger, and Nathan Runninger (Kelly). Tom is further survived by his grandchildren, Erik and Asher Runninger, by his parents Larry and Patricia, and his siblings Kristen Smith, and Jeffrey Slye (Libby). He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Brice Smith, Quinn, and Elle, and many cousins and friends.
