Terry E. Redmond

Terry E. Redmond, age 80 of Erie, passed away on Monday December 8, 2025 at AHN St. Vincent Hospital. He was born in Erie on November 20,1945 to the late Charles W. and Marjorie R. Claypool Redmond.

Terry graduated from McDowell High School in 1963. He attended Gannon University for several years and worked for GTE for 35 years. Additionally, he became a field consultant for Verizon and worked at Scott Funeral Home.

Terry coached Erie youth hockey for 12 years and he also coached Fairview High School Hockey from 1980-1983, which included winning state championships in 1981 and 1982, for which he was honored by the Fairview Sports Hall of Fame. He was an avid fan of the Erie Otters and Erie Sea Wolves. He enjoyed entertaining his friends in his home along with his wife Lesley, and loved reading, history and world politics. Throughout his life he was a devoted pet owner and enjoyed walking his dogs and caring for his animals.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lesley Noyes Redmond in 2024; his brother, Michael Redmond and brother-in-law, Jimmie Mattix.

Terry is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Uplinger (Dan) and Noelle Mattix both of Erie and son, Andrew Redmond (Jennifer) of Hummelstown PA. He’s further survived by his grandchildren: Cameron Mattix, Jacob Wood, Cillian Wood, Madison Wood, Carey Redmond, Emma Redmond and Keegan Redmond; great grandchildren: Olivia, Audrey, and Jericho; his brother, Jim Redmond (Starr); sister-in-law, Karen Redmond and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services Inc, 602 W. 10th St., Erie, PA on Monday December 15 from 3 PM until 6 PM followed by a time of sharing. Private burial will be in Erie Cemetery.
