Susan Agnes Reitinger

Susan Agnes (Schanz) Reitinger, age 79, of Erie, passed away Thursday, May 14th, 2026, at UPMC Hamot Hospital.

She was born July 10, 1946, in Erie, the daughter of the late Francis A. and Agnes (Fortin) Schanz.

Susan graduated from Villa Maria Academy, class of 1964. She worked for many years as an Out-Patient Supervisor for St. Vincent Hospital. She was a flea market enthusiast and an avid collector of antiques and glass. Susan was a local artist, she had many pieces accepted in art shows around the region. She was a lifelong member of the Erie Aquarium Society and always enjoyed live music.

Susan is survived by her husband, Ralph A. Reitinger, Jr; daughter, ChristiAnn Dickerson (Eric); son, Ralph A. Reitinger III (Stephanie); five grandchildren, Jolie Dickerson, Joao Dickerson Jr., Saige Reitinger, Amryn Reitinger, and Rylen Reitinger; one great-grandchild, Je’Von; as well as her brother, Francis T. Schanz (Shirley), nephew, Brandon. She is further survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
