Sue Ellen Spencer

Sue Ellen Jordan Spencer, age 68, of Erie, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at UPMC Hamot.

She was born in Erie on August 27, 1957, a daughter of the late James Jordan and Dorothy Terwilliger Jordan.

She attended Our Lady of Peace grade school and then went on to graduate from Academy High School and Mercyhurst University.

Sue worked at Perkins Restaurant on Peach Street, the Bel-Air Hotel and most recently retired from Glenwood Beer.

Sue was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed bowling, dancing, and loved entertaining at the backyard pool with her family and grand kids. Sue also loved the beach and soaking up the sun. She Sue loved to have dinner on Friday nights at the Siebenburger club and was a member of St. Julia Church. She loved her pets over the years especially her dog Chloe and cat Buster.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Cecil Spencer, Jr.; and two sisters, Jeannie Hershelman and Mary Ann Schrubb.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Cecil Spencer, Sr.; a daughter, Shelly Spencer (Nick); two grandchildren Aaliyah Spencer and Isaiah Mehler; two sisters, Nancy Jordan and Carol Sittig (Dave); a brother, Jeffrey Jordan; sister in law and good friend, Mary Mejia and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc. West Ridge 3801 W. 26th Street on Thursday, December 4th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and are invited to a funeral mass on Friday, December 5th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Julia Roman Catholic Church 638 Roslyn Ave, Erie, PA 16505.
