Stephen J. Falk, Jr., age 74, of Millcreek, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Greenfield Nursing Home.

He was born in Erie on July 27, 1952, the son of the late Stephen J. Sr. and Rita Kowalski Falk.

Steve was a 1970 graduate of Cathedral Preparatory School. After school, he began employment for a short stint at GE before joining RM Kerner Co. as a machinist where he worked for over 40 years.

Steve was a man of many passions which began first and foremost with his love for music, making music, and the four lads from Liverpool, The Beatles. The self-proclaimed Fifth Beatle, joined the band “Speed Limit” during his younger years and carried this love for music the rest of his life by writing original songs and hosting in-home concerts for his family and friends.

He also loved Steelers football beginning in the 70’s and continuing on throughout his life taking trips down to Three Rivers Stadium and later Heinz Field to tailgate and hopefully watch a victory.

He loved the outdoors and spending time down at Camp 50/50 in Cherry Grove, PA, enjoying hunting, bonfires, horseshoes, fireworks, and relaxing and catching up with a great group of friends. He also enjoyed trout and bass fishing with his children and friends and never needed anything but his trusty Rapala, or if that didn’t work, he always had his net.

Steve also became an usher at Blessed Sacrament Church for many years where he assisted the Church in several ways through collecting and counting donations at masses on Sunday or sending countless Christmas cards to those in need. Along with his time given to church, he also continued to make an annual impact to the Erie City Mission monetarily, which was an Organization he strongly supported.

Overall he loved spending time with family and friends and never turned down the chance to host a gathering where all of his siblings, children, friends, and quite frankly anyone who wanted to stop by could come together, share some laughs, have some drinks and food, and enjoy each other’s company.

After a day filled with one or more of those passions, he enjoyed cozying up at home with his devoted and loving spouse of over 25 years, Jane Roberts. They would pass the time talking, laughing, listening to music, watching the Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune, watching football, and just being in each other’s presence and those times meant the world to him.

He is survived by his spouse, Jane Roberts, brother, Bob Falk (Hope), sisters Rose Knepper (Bob), Carol Johnson (Dave), son Stephen J Falk III (Courtney), daughter Kelly Ernst (Jeff), daughter Amy Falk (Eric), grandchildren Adison, Jackson, Tristan, Bryson, Erin, Kyle, Tasha, Ryan, and Alex, and great-grandchildren Conner, Keagan, and Abel, as well as other close family and friends.

Friends may call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc, West Ridge 3801 W. 26th Street on Thursday, September 24th from 11:00am until the time of service at 1:00 p.m.

Special thanks to the doctors and nurses on the 7th and 8th floor of St. Vincent’s Hospital as well as the staff and nurses at Greenfield Nursing Home.

He always reiterated “There’s never been a group quite like The Beatles”, well, there has never been a football fan, fisherman, musician, grandpa, father, spouse, friend, or soul like him. May he rest in peace.

Steve was a man that never wanted anything from anyone but would have given anyone anything he had. His motto was “to not be bitter, but be better.” So in lieu of flowers, please consider giving to a cause that is near to your heart and live each day to be a better version of yourself the day prior.
