Scott Matthew Heher, a beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on April 7, 2026, at the age of 55. Scott was born on January 11, 1971, in Erie, Pennsylvania, to Herbert Heher and the late Linda Jean (Nowack) Merski. After his graduation in 1989 from McDowell High School, Scott joined the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army serving in the Gulf War Operation Desert Shield. Most recently Scott was employed by Quest Diagnostics as a designated courier where he left a meaningful impact on those he interacted with due to his generous heart.
Scott was known for his giving spirit and an old-school charm that resonated with everyone he met. He made a point to support local businesses for his individual needs and non-profits for the needs of others.
On a personal level, his passions ranged from his love of nature and birds, music, books, and sports. He loved all things Pennsylvania and was an avid Penn State, Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates fan. He also enjoyed following international soccer clubs with AJAX and Barcelona being his very favorite teams.
In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. Scott is survived by his father, Herbert Heher and his wife, Angela; his sister, Shawn McClelland and her husband, Brian; his stepfather, Lee Merski; his stepbrothers: Chris (Kelly) Merski and Jacob Merski; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins.
