Sarah Skarzenski

Sarah Fargiorgio Skarzenski, age 99, of Erie, passed away August 7, 2022, at Elmwood Gardens.  She was born on December 11, 1922 , daughter of the late Salvatore and Concetta (Maroni) Fargiorgio. She was employed at Erie Resistor prior to her marriage to Peter, who passed away on February 4, 1991. Sarah lived her entire life in Erie.  She was a devoted mother, homemaker, hard worker and was fiercely independent.   

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Fargiorgio and four sisters: Natalina Cornacchione, Christine Di Placido, Mary Ross and Sarah’s twin sister, Angeline Ross.

Sarah is survived by three children, Donald (Janice) of Tomball, Texas; Karen Miller (Phillip); and Becky Faulhaber (Louis) both of Erie.  She is also survived by nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  

The family would like to thank the staff of Elmwood Gardens, who cared for Sarah these past four years and UPMC hospice.   

Per Sarah’s wishes, there will be no funeral or calling hours.
