Saeid (Rad) Esfahbodirad

Saeid (Rad) Esfahbodirad passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2025 after an extended illness and a liver transplant.

Saeid was born in Tehran, Iran in 1956. He attended college at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Enid, OK and then returned to Iran. There he started his own plastics company, leaving the country during the Iraq/Iran Revolution and moving to Austria and eventually to Erie, PA where he raised his two children as a single parent.

Saeid worked and retired from the Plastek Group in Erie after 25 years where he was a trouble shooter. He and his wife loved to travel and were blessed with many fabulous memories of the places they shared and experienced together. Saeid loved sports and was a huge international soccer and American football fan! Go Steelers!

Saeid was a loving and kind man and is survived by the love of his life, Sonia Sabetti Esfahbodirad who he married in 2008. Together they have five adult children; Shiva Esfahbodirad of Erie; Nima Esfahbodirad of Md; Leah Burfield (Dave) of Va; Kevin Burfield (Kristina) of Lake City, PA and Jeff Barnette (Holly) of Erie. They also have five grandchildren and Saeid is also survived by his siblings; Pari (Iran), Paris (Ga) Giti (Tx) and Hamed (Iran) along with many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at the Russian Orthodox Church of the Nativity, 251 E. Front St. on Monday, July 7, 2025 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm and are invited to attend Funeral Services there Tuesday at 9:00 am. Burial will be in St. John the Divine cemetery.
