Ruth Alma Johnson was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on January 31, 1926, to C. Lenus Johnson and Agnes (Johnson) Johnson. She died in Northbrook, Illinois on June 3, 2025.
Ruth graduated from Academy High School in 1943. She then entered Hamot Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1946. Ruth worked at Hamot Hospital for many years and retired from the Erie VA Hospital in 1988.
Ruth loved reading, listening to music, studying the Bible with her “Soul Sisters” and traveling the world!
She is survived by her nephews and nieces.
She is preceded in death by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth Johnson and Yvonne Johnson, Glenn Johnson and Ellie Johnson and niece, Jeanne Johnson.
Friends may attend an 11:00 a.m. graveside service on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Erie Cemetery (Section 10), 2116 Chestnut Street, in Erie. Arrangements are entrusted to Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services Inc. Downtown, 602 West 10th Street in Erie, Pennsylvania 16502.
