Ruth Bernice Church

Ruth Bernice Church age 101, of Erie, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026, surrounded by her family at home after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was the daughter of the late William and Lucille (Ripley) Burg.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Timothy Church in 2005, after 60 years of marriage; two brothers, James and Joseph Burg and two sisters, Dorothy Colton and Frances Beaumont.

She is survived by her children, Karen Clement and her husband Frank, Linda Swab and her husband Allen, Kim Church, Debby Smith and her husband Tim; an estranged son, A. Timothy Church and his wife Kathy and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Ruth’s hospice nurse Savannah Tobin and the team at UPMC Hospice for their exceptional care.

Friends may call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc, Downtown, 602 W. 10th Street, on Friday, February 27th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m. and are invited to the service there on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
