It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Russell Jackson Ellinger II, age 51, of Erie, Pennsylvania, who went to be with the Lord on April 16, 2026.
Born on November 17, 1974, in Dubois, Pennsylvania, to Russell Jackson Ellinger and Cindy (Pierce) Ellinger.
Russell was a graduate of East High School and a member of the Army Reserves.
A proud dog lover, he shared his life with many dogs over the years. He had a passion for tinkering on various projects, particularly cars, most importantly Ford Mustangs.
Before moving back to Erie, Russell worked as a project manager in Richmond, Virginia, in construction. He enjoyed golfing and fishing. Russell was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Russell was a believer in Jesus Christ, finding strength in his faith. He was a beloved son, brother, and friend. He looked forward to get-togethers with his family and had a special bond with the younger children in the family, always taking the time to play and connect with them.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Erma Keith and William Pierce.
Russell leaves behind to cherish him in memory, his mother, Cindy Ellinger; father, Russell Jackson Ellinger; brothers, John Ellinger and Mark Renzi; sister, Heather Ann Shermer and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
