It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Roy Howard Wadsworth on June 29, 2026.
Born on February 24, 1946, in Erie, Pennsylvania, Roy was the son of the late Howard Wadsworth and Marion Kienholtz Sherman.
He attended Academy High School and spent his entire life in Erie, Pennsylvania. Roy held various jobs before working at GAF for 24 years. On April 25, 1967, he married his beloved wife, Alyce Morgan Wadsworth, whom since the day they met, confidently declared to everyone that he would marry her – a promise he fulfilled one year later. Family was paramount to Roy, and he embraced his role as a loving stepfather to seven children. A devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Roy served in various capacities over the years, drawing strength and guidance from his faith. Roy was a peacemaker and would help anyone out. He loved to read, do word searches, go on vacations and enjoyed his dogs when he had them.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Alyce; stepdaughter, Gail; grandson, Curtis; sisters, Linda and Dagmar and brother, Ray.
Roy is survived by his children: Louise Parker, Karla Dunsmoor (Mark), Gary Karl (Patricia), Russell Karl (Laurie), Lisa King and Andrew Karl (Tonya), as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Anna and Judy, and brother Robert.
On Roy's final day, he laughed and smiled.
A private family service will be held to honor his memory. Arrangements are entrusted to the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services Inc., 602 W 10th St., Erie, PA 16502.
