Roy Blair, 84, of Fairview, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025. He was the loving Husband of Martha (Marti) Whaley Blair.
Born in Geneva, PA in 1941, Roy was the son of the late James C. and Sara Ruth Blair. He graduated from Penns Valley High School where he wrestled in the State Championship. A lifelong learner, he earned a bachelor’s degree from California State College and a master’s degree from Penn State University. After a short career as an industrial arts teacher, he worked as an engineer at various companies throughout his career.
He was an active member of the Lakewood United Methodist Church in Erie, served on many committees and a proud member of the Lake Erie Masonic Lodge #537 F.&A.M.; Zem Zem Shrine Club; and the New Castle Scottish Rite. Roy enjoyed his hobbies of reading especially history, Civil Air Patrol, Maritime Museum guide, genealogy and traveling with his wife. A born teacher he loved nothing more than camping with his children when they were younger and taking them on many M & M trips (Museum and Monument) while living in York, PA. In his later years, he enjoyed taking his grandchildren for ice cream, watching sunsets at the Peninsula, and exploring the Maritime Museum.
Roy will be greatly missed by his wife of 59 years, Marti as well as their children: Kelly Blair Raymond, her husband, Randall (Randy) of Danbury, CT, Roy (Jamie) Blair, Jr., his wife (Kathi) of Mentone, AL, and Susie Lewis, her husband George of Gallatin, TN. Roy is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Amber, Ashley, Hayley, Ian, Sophia, James, and Mika. He is further survived by his sister, Nancy J. Hartley and her husband Joseph (Joe) of Spring Grove, PA. Always good for a laugh, Roy will be remembered by his quick-witted sense of humor and his high-quality Dad jokes. He lived life to the fullest, loved deeply, and laughed frequently.
Friends may call on the family from 2pm until the time of the funeral service at 4pm at Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East, Girard on Monday December 15, 2025. The Burial followed at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Cranberry, PA.
