Rose Ann Cox

August 30, 1947 — August 2, 2023

Heaven gained another beautiful angel on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, as Rose Ann (Koniecko) Cox passed into the loving arms of our Lord. She is once again with her son, Chad (Charles D Cox, III), who passed away in 2009.

Rose was born in Erie, PA on August 30, 1947, daughter of the late Alexander Koniecko and Ada Figoli.  She was a Class of 1965 graduate of Harbor Creek High School. She retired as a small business owner of Bombsight Models Hobby Shop that she ran with her husband.

Rose was married for 51 years to the love of her life, Charles D. Cox, Jr., who she met at Hornyak’s Atlantic Gas Station in Erie, PA.  Flirtingly, she asked Chuck if he needed any help when she saw him working on his car.  He handed her a manual and asked her to take off the intake manifold. To his surprise, she did it. The rest is history.

In addition to her parents and son, she was preceded in death by her sister, Anita Briska Washington.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Cox, three children, Kimberly Dailey (Patrick) of Harborcreek, Stephanie Fisher (Kevin) of North East, and Timothy Cox of Erie. She was "Nanny" to her two grandchildren, Alexander and Hannah Fisher.  She is further survived by three sisters, Mary Ploszkiewicz (Joe) of Lake City, Fran Weaver (Roy) of Lexington, NC and Nancy Rea (Phil) of Greenfield Township and many nieces and nephews.

Rose enjoyed spending time with her family and friends more than anything.  She especially loved being a wife and a mom to her four kids.  Just when she thought life couldn’t get any better, she got to be a Nana.  She loved doting on her grandchildren. They were the rays of sunshine in her life, and she was so proud to be their Nana.  She had so many wonderful friends in her life as well, including her best friends in the world, Dee, Marcia and Camille.

In her younger years, her and Chuck enjoyed time together at drag car races and car shows.  She loved quilting, crocheting afghans and doilies, collecting dolls, and playing Bananagrams.
