Rosalie Spirito Manning, age 80, of Erie went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, July 23, 2024. She was born in Erie on March 5, 1944, daughter of the late John Louis and Grace Loranger Spirito. She was a graduate of McDowell High School and a member of St. Luke's Roman Catholic Parish. Rosalie trusted and loved her Lord.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Richard J. Manning, her son, David J. Manning, and her sister, Yvonne S. Kemock; brother, Henry Spirito; and great niece, Addison Sinclair.
Rosalie is survived by her dear companion and loving partner, Joseph Ananea, who spent their life together for the last 18 years, her grandchildren, Veronica and Laurel Manning, of Pittsburgh, and her sister, Patricia Ulrich of Huntsville, Alabama. She is also survived by her caring brothers-in-law, Keith (Patricia) Ulrich, Nicholas Kemock and Paul (Debra) Manning.
Rosalie dedicated over 40 years, together with her late husband, to business ventures including a restaurant and a real estate firm. She also worked at St. Vincent and Hamot Hospitals. Rosalie adored all children and worked as a volunteer at St. Vincent's with newborns until her health started to fail.
Rosalie's love for cooking earned her the title of "Food Pusher," and her home was always open and full of music. She loved animals, especially Boston Terriers, having had six of them, including Carly, who survives her. Rosalie had a soul and spirit that reached out to those who were suffering, and she would be there for them.
Rosalie was blessed to have many nieces and nephews, Anthony (Michele) Agostini, Michael Agostini, Christopher (Thimi) Kemock, Nicole (Scott) Hackman, Kara (Mark) Sinclair, cousins and dear friends, Carol and David Rastatter, Pete and Emmie Dunn, and Ed and Loretta Balch who supported her and her family.
On Monday, July 29th, relatives and friends are invited to St. Luke Catholic Church, 421 East 38th Street, Erie, PA, for visitation from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.
