Robert Samuel Boyd

Robert Samuel Boyd "Sam", age 75 of Albion, passed away on Friday March 13, 2026.

He was born on December 26, 1950, in Erie, the youngest son of the late Louis and Edra Bartlett Boyd. Sam served in Vietnam as a young man as a member of the United States Army. He was a retired member of Boilermakers Local 747. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, racing and Dobermans. He was never without one of Cheryl's custom-made denim caps.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Marilyn White, and June Wise; brothers, John Boyd, Richard Boyd, Douglas Dougherty, Louis Dougherty, and John Dougherty.

Sam is survived by his wife of over 53 years, Cheryl Trapp Boyd; three sisters, Marge Rupp and her husband David, Jean Williams, and Shirley O'Baker; two brothers, James Boyd, and Charles Boyd and his wife Patricia; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East, Girard on Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 12:00pm until the time of memorial service at 2:00pm. A private burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
