Robert C. Oglevee (Ogie) passed away on October 20, 2023 at age 80. Bob was born in Munhall, PA, a suburb of Pittsburgh, on March 24, 1943. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marcine, who passed shortly after birth, and his parents Charles and Sara Oglevee.
Bob is survived by Susan, his loving wife of 24 years, his three sons — Todd Oglevee (Mary Ann) of Atlanta, GA; Ryan Oglevee (Deborah) of Denver, CO; and Brendan “Brett” Oglevee of Erie, PA — and grandchildren Jack Oglevee and Emma Oglevee.
Bob graduated from Munhall High School in 1961, where he was a diver for the swim team and participated in the Pony and Prep League for football and baseball. Bob graduated from Edinboro University with a liberal arts degree in 1965.
Upon graduation, Bob worked in sales before finding his calling in insurance. He worked for Travelers Insurance before founding Northcoast Brokerage Agency with his partner Walter W. (Bill) Davis. Bob was also part-owner of Computerland, Herbal Insurance, and Wagner Giblin Insurance.
Bob was an avid golfer and dedicated fan of all things Pittsburgh, especially the Steelers, Pirates, and Pitt football. As a member of the Kahkwa Club, Bob enjoyed golfing with the “Dawn Patrol” for many years. Bob also cherished his friends from the U.S. and Canada at the Lost City Golf Club in Atlantis, FL.
The family would like to thank Dr. Jan Rothman at the Hillman Cancer Center and Katie from Family Hospice of Erie for their support and care.
