Robert Kenneth Loster, age 90, passed away at his daughter's home in Erie, Pennsylvania on Saturday, May 2, 2026. Bob died peacefully in his daughter’s arms listening to Van Morrison's “Into the Mystic".

Bob was the son of the late Robert Q. Loster and the late Evelyn Todd Wolf.

Bob left home when he was 16 and supported himself with multiple jobs including parking cars at the Philadelphia sports stadiums. He remained a die-hard Philly fan his entire life. He attained his GED at that time. Bob enlisted in the United States Army on his 19th birthday, 9/23/1954 and remained in the service until his honorable discharge on 3/31/1963.

Bob met the love of his life, Karen Ann Spragins, at the former Willow Grove Bowling Lanes in Willow Grove PA while they were both working at General Electric. They married on July 13, 1963 and settled into a home in Warminster, Pa. They resided there until 2022 when they moved to Erie to live with their daughter and her family.

Bob worked for over 40 years in purchasing, starting in the mailroom and working his way up to Vice President of Purchasing. During this time, he attained an associate's degree in business from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pa.

Bob had a strong love for animals, especially dogs. He raised German Shepherds for over 40 years and competed them in dog shows. This led to his involvement with the American Kennel Club. He became a highly recognized dog show judge. Dad’s most beloved shepherd was his Blitzen. In his later years he downsized to Dachshunds and Chihuahuas and was often seen walking around the neighborhood with 4 or 5 at a time. At any time, Bob could be seen sitting in his recliner with 7 little dogs all cozy in his lap! Bob adopted and cherished his pet cockatiel, Carly, who was known for saying some “choice” words and always providing him so much joy. Bob’s favorite time of day was around 4 pm every evening when he and Karen went out to dinner at local restaurants, that is as long as they served a good Beefeater Martini! You knew it was good if he took a sip, closed his eyes and said “Ambrosia”.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Karen (who died only 57 days prior) and a son who was stillborn. He is survived by his loving daughter, Elizabeth Loster Brown and her husband, Joseph; 7 grandchildren: Jackie Arblaster (Dylan), Amanda Vickery (Anthony), Joe Brown (Abby), Matt Brown (Lindsay), Sami Brown (Jason), Casey Brown and Jake Brown and 10 great grandchildren: Gabbie and Siris Arblaster, Connor, Anna, Aurora and Amelia Vickery, Alanna, Delilah and Lily Brown and Jason Kress. He is also survived by his brother, Eugene Wolf (Pam).

Our entire family would like to express our love and sincere gratitude to Interim Hospice and the most amazing care team our family could have asked for. Jordyn, Heather, Becky, Michelle, Jessica and Sister Mary Ellen: you have all become family to us while you cared for mom and dad. The sincere love, respect and care you showed meant everything to us and we will miss you coming in the door each day with that positive energy that made even the worst days bearable. Extra special thanks to Heather as you were absolutely dad’s favorite. He wanted you to take good care of his birds, Bob and Karen, and think of him often.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggest memorial contributions be sent in their names to the Bucks County SPCA, P.O, Box 277, Lahaska, PA 18931.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services Inc. West Ridge, 3801 West 26th Street, Erie, PA 16506.
