Robert Landis

     Robert J. Landis, 68, died on Friday, February 9, 2018, at his home in Erie.  He was born on March 23, 1949, in New Kensington, Pa., son of the late Robert E. and Patricia J. Shields Landis.  A 1967 graduate of Ken Hi High School, New Kensington, he was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served with the U.S. Navy.  Mr. Landis was a machinist and worked for Uniflow Manufacturing, Autoclave Engineers, EMI and Plastek.  He enjoyed fishing. 
     Survivors include his significant other, Mildred D. Chase; two sons, Ronald Smith and wife Vicky and Samuel Smith and wife Carrie, all of Erie; a brother, Timothy D. Landis and wife Cheryl of Lower Burrell, Pa.; four grandchildren, Nicole Michalegko and husband Timothy, Tiffany Williams and husband Kevin and Ronald Smith III and wife Kasina, all of Erie; and Damion Smith of Duke Center, Pa.; and ten great-grandchildren.
     In accordance with the wishes of Mr. Landis, all services are private.  Memorials may be made to charity of the donor's choice
