Robert F. Kitchen, 88, devoted father and loving husband, passed peacefully on Saturday morning, June 21st, 2025.

He was born in Lancaster, PA on September 28th, 1936, the son of the late Clifford F. Kitchen and Wilhelmina B. Kitchen. He graduated from Hempfield High School in Landisville, PA and from the Pennsylvania Military College (now Widener University) in Chester, PA, with a BS degree in electrical engineering. He proudly served in the US Army Signal Corp and at Fort Monmouth in NJ as a security officer, achieving the rank of 2nd Lieutenant.

He worked at General Electric as an engineer and in sales for 34 years, until his retirement in 1992. He then worked part time at Kmart East for 5 years as a greeter.

He was an avid baseball fan (particularly dedicated to his Brooklyn Dodger team), a connoisseur of the EC comic books from the 40's & 50's, a lifelong stamp collector, an enthusiast of 50's rock 'n roll (especially Buddy Holly), a history buff, a superb pianist, and a lover of classic movies. He was kind, always friendly, and genuinely cared about other people, happy to strike up a conversation with anyone. His passion was to spread the Gospel.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife Philomena (Breda) Kitchen, whom he married in 1960; his 3 sons: Michael (and his wife Maripat), Paul (and his wife CaroLynn), and Robert (and his wife Denise); and 11 grandchildren: Jordon, Gabby, Joshua, Joel, James, Jonathan, Abby, Alison, Jesse, Hunter, and Brenna. He is also survived by his cousin and Goddaughter Donna Passarella (and her husband Michael); and 2 other cousins: Debbie Petranchick and Patti Singer.

There will not be any calling hours and services will be privately conducted by the family.

Memorials can be made to organizations that preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ or to a place of worship of your choice.
