Robert W. Dzikowski

Robert W. Dzikowski, of Millcreek, passed away at St. Vincent Hospital on July 31, 2026, after a short illness.

Bob was born in Erie on April 26, 1938, the son of the late William and Sophie (Laskowski) Dzikowski. He attended Holy Trinity Grade School and Tech Memorial High School for three years. He transferred to Academy High School his senior year and graduated in 1956. After serving in the army, he trained and worked as a barber before working in the warehouses of S.M. Flickinger Co. in Erie and Sysco in Falconer, New York.

Bob retired in 2000 and was able to enjoy new interests. He joined a gym, began baking delicious cakes and cookies, created beautiful pieces of furniture in his basement wood shop, went fishing with his brother, and hosted game day with his sister and cousin. He even started playing softball in the senior rec league in his seventies. Retirement also gave him more time for some of his favorite things: reading, word puzzles, Polish music, Pirates baseball games, and his grandchildren.

Bob set an example for his family by the way he lived every day. His life motto could have been work hard, go to church, don’t complain, be grateful, help others, and enjoy the simple things. He was the dad who always got the late pickup in the carpool and let his girls take the car once they learned to drive. He made trips to the library, going out for ice cream, and beach days at Presque Isle seem like little adventures. He showed up for all events, and he always gave quiet support and unconditional love. He raised his family, celebrated 52 years of marriage, and lived in the same home for 62 years.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Theresa (Michalski) Dzikowski and infant daughter Maria Dzikowski. He is survived by his daughters BethAnn Dzikowski and Christina Warner (Kirk) of Erie, and Carolyn Dzikowski (William Wrbican) of State College; grandchildren Chelsea Dyke (Ryan), Ashley Langford (Nathan), and Samuel and Nicholas Wrbican; and great-granddaughter Langford whom he would have met in December. He is also survived by a sister Rosanne Hanisek of Erie; brothers Thomas, Ronald (Gerry) and James (Michelle) Dzikowski; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc., West Ridge 3801 W. 26th Street on Friday, August 7th from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. and are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Saturday, August 8th at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Church 2401 W. 38th Street, Erie, PA 16506. Burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
