Ricky Barnes

Ricky J. Barnes, Sr., age 57 of Erie, died Saturday, May 10, 2014 at his residence following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Grove City, PA, a son of the late Harry and Geraldine Sterner Barnes, Sr.

Ricky graduated from Grove City High School and was self-employed, working in the construction industry.

He enjoyed riding motorcycles and fishing, and was a member of VFW Post 11.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ricky J. Barnes, Jr., his brother, Harry Barnes, and his mother-in-law Nancy Tiche.

Survivors include his wife Terri Winger Barnes, four children: James Winger of Erie; Michelle Gwin, husband Daniel of New Bedford, PA; Michael Winger, wife Jennifer; and Cody Barnes, wife Erica, all of Erie; 11 grandchildren: Michael, Brooke, Zach, Jordan, Alajandro, Emily, Joey, Nathan, Draven, Juli and Elli; one great grandson; his brother, Kenneth Barnes; a cousin Darlene; several nieces and nephews; and his pets, Max and Gracie.

Friends may visit with the family at Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Rd., Erie, Pa. on Wednesday from 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm with opportunities to share memories together.
