Rick D. Marino passed away in Las Cruces, New Mexico, on June 7, 2026.
He was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on September 10, 1952, the son of the late Francis (Fritz) J. Marino and Evalyn Culotta Marino.
After serving in the army in Europe, Rick graduated from Gannon University. Following this he joined the Erie Police Department where he served 23 years before retiring as a Detective. Rick and his wife relocated to Goodyear, Arizona after retiring where he had many friends from the local American Legion. Rick was very active supporting his fellow veterans.
Several years ago, Rick and Chris moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico where they enjoyed the small town feeling that reminded them of Erie in so many ways.
Rick will be missed by his family, friends, and his pets who kept him company for many hours during his final days.
He is survived by his spouse, Christina (Holman) of Las Cruces; his son, Nathan and his wife, Courtney, and grandson, Dexter who live in Palatine, Illinois. In addition, he is survived by his brother, David Marino and his wife, Susan; as well as his sister Mary Frances Colvin and her husband, Jeff; and many nieces and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was formerly married to Marianne Betz Marino.
Services were held at the convenience of the family. Donations can be sent in lieu of flowers to Emmaus Ministries Soup Kitchen, 218 E. 11th St. Erie, PA 16503.
