Richard William Wildauer, of Fairview, PA, passed away on January 19, 2025, following an extended illness. He was surrounded by the family he loved so dearly.

Born on March 13, 1950, in DuBois, Pennsylvania, to William and Genevieve Wildauer, Richard was raised in Reynoldsville. He graduated from DuBois Central Catholic High School and went on to attend Edinboro College, where he became a brother of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity—a brotherhood that provided him with lifelong friendships he cherished until his final days.

Richard dedicated 37 years to the Fairview School District as a beloved teacher, while also finding success in the local real estate market.

He was a member of Lake Share country club for 30 years as well as the American Legion, Elks Club and Erie Yacht Club. After retiring, he spent time in his winter home at Heritage Palms, Fort Myers Florida. There he hosted the famous yearly Smith Hot Dog party for his family and many friends.

While Richard loved golf, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and live music, his greatest passion was his family. His most proud achievement was raising his two sons alongside his wife, Betsy. He never missed a game, even serving as the Fairview Golf Coach during his sons' high school years. This devotion continued into the next generation, as he became the biggest fan of his grandchildren, Ella and Kyle, never missing an opportunity to cheer them on in their favorite sports.

He is survived by his loving wife Betsy and his sons Scott (Blair) and Eric. Along with his grandchildren Ella and Kyle and sister Rosanne McGeehan (Paul), brother Denny Wildauer (Darlene), sister-in-law Sandy Samuelson (Jerry) and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Burton Quinn Scott Funeral Home.
