Richard Lindenberg

Richard Lindenberg, of Erie, passed away on Monday January 12, 2026. He was born in Cherry Hill, NJ on July 29, 1947, the son of the late Edgar C. and Ruth F. Lindenberg.

He graduated from Parkway Central High School in St. Louis, MO and completed his undergraduate studies at Georgia Tech. He obtained his PhD from University of Kansas. He taught geology at several universities including Kent State, Salisbury State and eventually retired from Edinboro University after 20 years.

Richard had a quiet presence and peaceful manner. He was thoughtful, always putting others, especially his children, first. In his spare time, he enjoyed photography, gardening, fly fishing and sailing. He was also a car buff.

He is survived by his sons: Richard (Candace) of Fairfax, VA and their children Evan and Chase, and Christian (Jessica) of Buffalo, NY and their children Liam and Ava; and a sister Karen Lee.
