Richard C. Fresch, age 71, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, in his Millcreek home after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on May 27, 1955, in Erie to Richard and Charlotte Frecsh now deceased.
He was a 1974 graduate of McDowell High School where upon he entered the US Army and served with the 101st Airborne for 4 years, honorably discharged.
Richard went on to graduate from the Tennessee Technical School, where he studied air conditioning and refrigeration. He briefly worked For Chaffies Appliance until he was hired at Pepsi Cola in 1980 as a field repair tech.
Richard was an artist and won several awards at the Millcreek Art Show at Asbury Barn.
Richard liked to fish and garden, watched Netflix movies, Steeler football, baseball and racing.
He attended St. Jude's Catholic Church every Sunday and knew the lord.
Richard married his wife Sheryl, on July 24, 2004, in Mckean. Richard retired in 2021 from Pepsi after 41 years of service. He cherished his friendships with Brian Halpainy and Gary Terlitsky. Thank you for those friendships.
Richard was preceded in death by his only sibling, his brother Robert Frisch.
He is survived by his wife, Sheryl Fresch and their dog Meg; two sons Richard K. Fresch of Erie and Brandon J. Fresch and his wife Amy of Mckean; sister- in- Law, Diane Fresch of Fairview; 3 grandchildren, Haley Fresch and her fiancé Noah, Brianna Fresch and Rocky Fresch; 2 nephews, Matthew Fresch of Colorado and Christopher Fresch of Fairview; and his ex-wife, Diana Fresch Meehl (Tony). Richard also had stepchildren, Jamie Detwiler (Tim), Justin Binney (Melinda) and Jodie Binney and her fiancé Matthew, along with 8 more grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to reminisce, grieve and support each other at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc, West Ridge 3801 W. 26th Street, Erie on Friday, September 18th from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 5:00 p.m. followed by Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
