Raymond J. Chojnacki, Jr., 66, of Fairview, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully at his home on June 16, 2026 surrounded by his loving family after a year-long battle with cancer. Ray was born on July 23, 1959 to the late Raymond J. Chojnacki, Sr. and Irene J. Chojnacki (Amendola) in Erie, Pennsylvania. He was a 1978 graduate of Erie Technical Memorial where he studied masonry and after graduating, began to work in the concrete and masonry industry.
Raymond was a skilled concrete contractor, known for his quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. Certified by the American Concrete Institute, he was self-employed and serviced the Erie area for over twenty-nine years. During the winter months, Ray learned welding and metal fabrication and obtained certifications from Vo-Tech. He specialized in repairing old farm equipment and creating ornate garden works.
Outside of work, Ray enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting, camping, and gardening. During the weekends, he would be found spending time with his family at family gatherings and attending his children’s sports and activities. He was a life-long Boston Red Sox fan.
Growing up, he was a member of Saint Patrick Church and after moving to Fairview, PA, with his family, they joined Holy Cross Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his father Raymond J. Chojnacki, Sr.; mother, Irene J. Chojnacki (Amendola), and half-brother, Leonard Chojnacki.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-two years, Darlene Chojnacki (Clement); his son, Michael Chojnacki of Phoenix, AZ; daughters, Anna Chojnacki of Erie, PA, Kara Nelson (Brenna Nelson) of Meadville, PA, and Lea Chojnacki of Pittsburgh, PA, and sister Doreen Fallon of Erie, PA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and friends.
Friends may call on the family on Wednesday, June 24th, 2026 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM and 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Burton Funeral Home; 525 Main St. East, Girard, PA 16417. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 7100 West Ridge Rd., Fairview, PA on Friday, June 26th at 10 AM. Inurnment to follow at Gateway of Heaven Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Raymond’s name may be placed with UPMC Family Hospice; 310 French St Ste 102, Erie, PA 16507.
