Peter M. Tate-Crockett

On Sunday, August 17, 2025, Peter M. Tate-Crockett of Erie, PA, passed away and transitioned to his heavenly home. Born on December 13, 1965, in Erie, Peter was the beloved son of the late Rev. George Tate and Jeanette Willcox-Tate. In 1995, Peter met the love of his life, Marcus Crockett, and they were united in matrimony in 2015. With abundant love, Peter, a gifted cook, used his culinary talents to bring family together. Together, he and Marcus raised three young boys into the amazing young men they are today. Peter is preceded in death by his parents, Rev. George Tate and Jeanette Willcox-Tate, three sisters, Barnetta Deboe, Molly Tate, and Tonya Tate, and his brother, George Tate. Peter is survived by his loving partner of 30 years, Marcus Crockett, and the children he helped raise: Maurice Crockett, Jordan Crockett, and Christopher Crockett. He also leaves behind seven siblings: sisters Rosalynn Tate, Tammy Tate, Undra Tate, and Sonnet McClellan, and brothers Bryce Tate, James (Lisa) Tate, and Delvon Tate, Deaundra Dupree, all of Erie, PA. Peter, a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), had a tremendous heart for his work. He was passionate about caring for the elderly and those with disabilities, approaching his duties with deep empathy and a warm smile. Beyond his professional life, Peter was a genuinely loving person who found immense joy in cooking for others and bringing people together through his love of food and his vibrant, sociable nature. His beautiful grandchildren, along with countless nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends, will continue to cherish his memory.

Friends are invited to a Funeral Service Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services Inc. Downtown, 602 W. 10th Street, Erie. Inurnment to follow in Erie County Memorial Gardens.
