Paul "Pete" Silva

Paul “Pete” Silva age 74 of Fairview, passed away at his home after an extended illness on Thursday, November 5, 2026.

He immigrated here from Mexico at an early age and found his love of horse racing. He was a race horse trainer in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia for over 40 years. He had a love of the outdoors and spending time with his dogs, Trixie and Chico. He and his wife Kris, celebrated 50 years of marriage last December.

He is survived by his wife Kristine; his children, Paul Silva and his wife Vikkie; and Marcy Silva; his grandchildren: Erynn McChesney and her partner Doug Hines; Leanna McChesney, and Dannica McChesney; a great grandson Blaine Hines; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to his caregivers over the past few years especially Jessica.

Services were held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were entrusted to the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East, Girard.
