Patricia Ann Schlosser, 81, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026, after a determined and courageous two-year battle with ovarian cancer.
Born on September 9, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Theodore (Ted) and Mary (Lewandowski) Smith. She was the oldest of seven Smith sisters from Saegertown and enjoyed relationships with each of them throughout her lifetime.
She married David E. Schlosser Sr. in 1964, and they soon moved to Fairview where they raised their two children, David and Debra, instilling in them their traits of independence and responsibility. They enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, gardening and spending countless weekends gathering with extended family.
She worked for many years in customer service at Copes Vulcan in Lake City.
Proud of her Polish heritage, she made many pierogis and loved to polka with her sisters and cousins. She was a loyal but impatient fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates and was always one of the first spectators in the stands at her local grandchildren’s many sporting events.
GMA (the nickname from her five grandchildren after how she signed her first-ever text) was the center of her family. All of us will forever treasure the memories of her delicious meals and time spent together at the many holiday gatherings she hosted at her home.
Patricia was the original sun goddess and was renowned for her trademark tan and timeless jet-black hair. Later in her life she traveled extensively with many groups of friends, played cards, and was always ready for adventures both large and small. Everyone liked Patty.
Her Fairview home was her favorite place, which she maintained on her own after her husband passed away in 2002. She had beautiful flower gardens, which once earned her the honor of Garden of the Month from the Fairview Garden Club.
The family would like to recognize and honor Patricia’s courageous fight. We were all in awe of her fierce sense of independence and determination to overcome daunting health challenges. We would like to thank all the family and friends who helped care for her throughout her illness, as well as the nurses and doctors at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center.
She is survived by her son, David (Mari Jo) Schlosser of Pittsburgh, and her daughter, Debra (Scott) Westcott of Fairview; five grandchildren, Gregory, Caitlin and Hayley Schlosser and Benjamin and Sara Westcott; Six sisters, Jane Pickens, Mary Ellen Rebrassier, Chris (William) Frisina, Theresa Osborne, Cindy (Donald) Hall, and Janet (Randy) Free; brother-in-laws, Dan (Joyce) Schlosser and Richard (Janinne) Styborski; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation hours will be held at Burton Quinn-Scott Cremation and Funeral Services Inc. West Ridge, 3801 W. 26th St, on Saturday, May 2nd from 1pm until the time of service at 2pm. Burial we be held at a later date at Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West County Paramedic Association, 6852 Meadville Rd. Girard, Pa. 16417
