Ollie Ramell Shafer of Erie age 85 passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024.
She was born in Albemarle, NC, on August 6th, 1939, the daughter of the late Coy and Lucy Brown Wise.
Ollie graduated from Eastern High School in Washington D.C. in 1957. She was employed as a secretary at Saint Vincent Health Center, First Federal Savings and Loan Association in Port Richey, FL and the US Government in Washington D.C. Ollie was a member of Crossroads Community Baptist Church of Erie, and served as a Sunday school teacher, a choir member, was head of the Christian Education Board and a coordinator of fellowship dinners.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Geneva Ryan and her daughter in law Brenda Wingo.
She’s survived by her husband Robert Shafer of Erie; son David Wingo and wife Joyce of Erie; stepson Chris Shafer and wife Barbara of Fairview; stepdaughter Julie Brokaw and husband Allen of St. Petersburg, FL; grandchildren, Joshua, David, Matthew and Jeremy Wingo all of Port Richey, FL and Brandy Wingo of Erie and a niece and nephew, Stephanie and Chris Fife.
Friends may call at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services Wintergreen, 2532 Norcross Rd., Erie, PA 16510 on Friday December 27 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm and are invited to attend a service there on Saturday at 11:00 am to be officiated by Pastor David White of Crossroads Community Baptist Church.
Burial in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
