Virginia Barber

Virginia Lee Barber, age 94, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 surrounded by her family.

She was born in Buckhanna, West Virginia on December 31, 1926, a daughter of the late Raymond and Winnie Winemiller.

Virginia was a skilled beautician and spent much of her younger years helping people feel beautiful.  Up until her very last days, you would find her dressed in her very best outfit, with full make up and her best jewelry, especially her earrings.  She was the essence of grace, beauty and class.  Virginia loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  They brought so much joy to her life.  She loved to share her love of ice cream with the young and her favorite glass of wine with the old.

In addition to her parents, she was met at Heaven’s Gate by very special family members which include her beloved granddaughter, Shayna Lea.

She will be forever missed by her husband of 75 years, Samuel Barber, whom she married on June 10, 1945; daughters, Sandy (Don) Shrader of Hudson, OH, Sherry (Pat) McDonald of Gilbert, AZ, Debbie Wallace of Pass Christian, MS and Cyndi (John) Stefanik of Erie.  Virginia will always be remembered by her 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Friends may call at Burton Quinn Scott at West Ridge, 3801 W. 26^th St. on Tuesday March, 23^rd from 11 am until the time of the service at 1 pm and can be viewed at www.facebook.com/BurtonQuinnScott

Burial to follow at Mary Queen of Peace Cemetery.
