Thomas Dash

Thomas M. Dash, age 81, of Fairview, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2023 at his home.

He was born in Erie, on May 3, 1941, a son of the late Francis J. and Gertrude Wasikowski Dash.

Thomas graduated from Fairview High School and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force.  He retired after 20 years of service, which included serving during the Vietnam War.  Thomas went on to driving bus for the Fairview School District and had been a caretaker at the Fairview Cemetery for many years.  He enjoyed treasure hunting, gold prospecting, and beach combing.  Thomas also spent 15 years as a square dance caller.  He belonged to the Fairview American Legion.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Audrey Davis.

Thomas is survived by his children: Jennifer LeBlanc and her husband Larry of Baldwinville, Mass,  Francis J. Dash, and Walter W. Dash; six grandchildren, Jason LeBlanc, Rachel LeBlanc Sand, Dylan Glenn, Jessica Glenn, Emma Rose Dash and Kayla Dash; and 4 great grandchildren, Kamden LeBlanc, Ava LeBlanc, Keegan Sand and Reese Sand. He is further survived by his sisters: Geraldine Rantimaki of Cranesville, Marian Veith of Fairview and Carol Thomas of CA; as well as many nieces and  nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East on Thursday from 11am until the time of service at 1pm.  Burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery with full military honors.
