Russell Anderson

Russell F. “Bud” Anderson, Jr., age 74, of Erie, passed away on October 20, 2016, at Edinboro Manor.

Bud was born in Erie, PA on June 30, 1942, the only son and the youngest of five children of the late Russell F., Sr. and Verna Arnold Anderson.

Bud was a valued employee of Erie Bolt Corporation for over 20 years, where he held the position of Production Control Manager. He also worked for several years in Lake Erie commercial fishing. Bud enjoyed riding his custom Harley, card games with friends, fishing, playing the piano and music. He was a 1960 graduate of Strong Vincent High School, where one of his greatest memories was singing in the choir, under the direction of Alice Simpson. His friend, George Throne said of Bud, “ he was always willing to lend a hand when he could, was a man of his word and the world needs a lot more like him.”

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Donna Mealy, Betty Mook and Greta Murray.

Bud is survived by his sister, Gail Hayden (Kenneth) of Avon, OH, son, Russell F. Anderson, III and several nieces and nephews.

There are no services at Bud’s request. Arrangements are entrusted to Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 West 10th Street.
