Rose Omniewski

Rose A. (Rotunda)  Omniewski, age 94, of Erie, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2022 at Forestview Skilled Nursing Center.  Rose was born on June 10, 1928 in Erie the youngest of ten children to the late Joseph and Jenny (Trepasso) Rotunda. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Omniewski in 2015; four brothers, Victor, Anthony (Tommy), Joseph and Frank Rotunda, and five sisters, Rosie Panighetti, Mary Mascaro, Annie Rotunda, Grace Salvage, and Adeline Bruno.

Rose devoted her life to being a good wife and mother. She loved to cook and prided herself on being an excellent homemaker. The lights of her life were her grandchildren; Mark II and Lisa who brought great joy and love throughout her life.

Rose is survived by two sons; Mark (Karen) Omniewski and Jeffrey Omniewski of Erie. She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Mark (Amber) Omniewski II  of Fredericksburg, VA and Lisa (Justin) Ramsay of Erie along with four great-grandchildren; Quinten, Issac, and Jensine Omniewski and Joseph Ramsay.

Rose’s family would like to express their gratitude and give special thanks to the nursing staff at the Woodlands (Springhill) for their care and support.

Friends are invited to call at the Quinn Funeral Home, West 9th & Liberty St. on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm and are invited to attend Prayer Services there Thursday at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am in St. George Catholic Church. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Springhill Resident Council, c/o Unit 321 Springhill Senior Living Ctr, 2323 Edinboro Rd., Erie, PA 16509 or to a charity of one’s choice.
