Patricia Steves

Patricia Ann Powers Steves age 88 of Erie PA, passed away on Wednesday January 25, 2023 at her residence.

She was born in Titusville, PA on April 7, 1934, the daughter of the late Sara Volkstadt and Charles F. Powers.

Patricia graduated from Mercyhurst College in 1956 and went on to teach school until her retirement in 1995. She was an active member of St. Luke’s Church, the Altar –Rosary Group and Mercy Associates and recently Blessed Sacrament Church. Patricia was a Penn Lakes Girl Scout leader for over 40 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, crafting, quilting, knitting and sewing.

In addition to her parents, Patricia was predeceased by her husband Melvin Steves, a daughter Judith Steves; brothers Charles W. Powers, Rev. Richard E. Powers and Frances Powers and a son-in-laws, Danny Plymel and John Peters.

She is survived by her sister, Mary Elizabeth Hajduk of Tonawanda, NY; her daughters, Kathleen Plymel of Jacksonville FL, Deborah Woolverton (Jon), of Hartstown, PA, Cynthia Howland (David) of West Springfield, PA, Margaret Lombardi (Angelo), Roberta Peters (Steven); her son, Michael Steves (Deborah), all of Erie; 14 grandchildren, Corey Plymel, Melissa Thatcher, Scott Bolger, Tracey and Kelsey Howland, Angela Kaiser, Danielle Lombardi, Lauren Alverson, Nicholas, Shannon, Collin and Riley Steves and Brett and Cassandra Peters as well as 10 great grandchildren.

Friends may call on the family and celebrate the life of Patricia at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, West Ridge, 3801 W. 26th Street on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church 1626 W. 26th Street, Erie, PA 16508. The service will be livestreamed and can be viewed at https://m.facebook.com/BurtonQuinnScott/,  Burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
