Mary Ann Schneider

Mary Ann Schneider, age 77, passed away on March 26, 2021. She was a long-time resident of Erie, PA and always held Erie close in her heart. In 2019, she moved to Indiana to be closer to her daughter, Lynn Langston, son-in-law, Joel Langston and granddaughters, Dune Langston and Clover Langston. 

Born in Erie on October 2, 1943 she was a daughter of the late Francis and Helen (Strike) Miraszek.

A graduate of East High School, class of 1961 she had worked for the PA State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement as the secretarial supervisor for 29 years retiring in 2003. After retirement, Mary Ann, dedicated many years of volunteer service to Meals on Wheels. 

Mary Ann enjoyed caring for her African Grey parrot, Shadow. She loved to make people laugh and was quick to offer her kindness to others. The most important aspect of life for Mary Ann was her family and her love for her husband, Donald F. Schneider who died in 2005. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph Miraszek and Donald Miraszek. Survivors include her daughter’s family of South Bend, IN and her dear sissy-poo, Dorothy DeLuca and her husband James, of Erie. 

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 11:00 AM, at Whispering Pines Cremation Garden, 2532 Norcross Road, Erie, PA 16510.  Arrangements are entrusted to Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Service Inc. Wintergreen. 

Memorials may be made to the Emmaus Soup Kitchen and to Meals on Wheels.
