Helen Wilt

Helen (Calvano) Wilt, age 92 formerly of New Castle, PA and Erie, PA, passed away Wednesday July 14, 2021 at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland OH.

She was born in Paola, Italy on September 10, 1928 and came to the United States in October 1946 with her mother and two sisters, where her father had already settled and had become a citizen.

Her family settled in Erie where she worked at Louis Marx Toy Company and met her husband of 62 years, Charles (Chuck) Wilt.  They relocated to New Castle PA in 1965 where they raised their family and were active in St. Mary’s Parish.

In addition to her parents, Anthony and Carmela (Mannarino) Calvano, she was preceded in death by her husband in 2018, a sister, Aquilina Lucchetti and 2 brothers in infancy, Pietro and Luciano Calvano.

Helen is survived by her loving children, Cindy (Paul) Koenig of Solon, OH and Chip (Rosana) Wilt of Moore, S. C.; adored grandchildren William (Zhen) Koenig, Gregory (Avery) Koenig, Thomas Koenig, Estefania Wilt and Michael Wilt, and dear great grandson Remy Koenig.  She is further survived by a sister Lucia (Gary) Dunsmore of Erie as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends my call at the Quinn Funeral Home, W. 9^th and Liberty, Erie on Saturday from 9:30 – 10:30am at which time a prayer Service will be held, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11am at St. Joseph Church, 147 W. 24^th St., Erie.

Burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
