Gilbert was a carpenter by trade and part of a union that helped construct many of the buildings around our city, such as Hamot hospital and the Blasco Library.  Gil was an avid Harley-Davidson enthusiast who built several of his own motorcycles throughout his life.  He could often be found in his garage, listening to the radio and coming up with imaginative solutions to a wide variety of household mishaps.  Gil was a fan of all Pittsburgh sports and loved being outdoors.  He enjoyed spending time with his daughter and experiencing new things through travel, gardening, fishing, camping, boating and watching the wildlife from his kitchen window.  His endearing nature and infectious, one-eyed laugh will be greatly missed.

Per the family’s wishes, a celebration of Gilbert’s life will be held privately at a personal residence. All other arrangements are entrusted to the Quinn Funeral Home, 728 West 9th St.  Condolences may be sent either directly to the family or at www.BurtonQuinnScott.com
