Gerard Noel Cairns - Condolences
Mary Lou K
Gerry was my first boss out of high school (1963) at John Hancock when their office was a block below 38th street near Liberty. He taught me a lot. Was very supportive. I was only there for about three years, but will always remember him. We moved out of town and didn’t move back til 10 yrs ago. He was the same age as my brother and that also made him special. I had met his wife Fay and Kim when she was possibly 5? I’m sure he will be missed a lot by all who knew and loved him.

Gerry hired me at John Hancock Insurance Co. shortly after I graduated from high school in 1964. He was an incredible boss. As the years went by and we grew older we frequently kept in touch, first by cards, phone calls and snail mail and later by email. Each time I visited Erie I would see him and his wife Faye and also visited them during a trip to Florida years ago. Gerry and I shared our love of classical music and he even sent me cassette tapes of his favorite music which I still listen to. I have lost a very dear friend. My thoughts and heartfelt sympathy are with Kim and also Gerry’s friends and relatives. He was an extraordinary man and I will miss him very much.
