Edwin Yearwood

December 18, 1935 — September 7, 2014

Edwin Ivan Yearwood, aged 78, of West Springfield PA lost his battle with cancer on September 7, 2014. Edwin was born December 18th, 1935 in Brooklyn NY; son to the late Ivan Leo Yearwood and Helene Louise Schopf Yearwood. His only sibling, his younger sister Marlene Schrieter and her husband Walter Schrieter are both deceased.

Edwin lived a life full of adventure and mischief. Sent to Peaksville Military School as a teenager, Edwin went on to enlist in the Navy and was a plane mechanic and was part of the sea and rescue squadron on the Midway Islands during the Korean War. Following his service in the Navy, Edwin then attended Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, CA. While studying underwater photography in Mexico he met his wife, a model named Janet Coggeshall. Upon graduation in 1960, Edwin married Janet and moved back to Brooklyn, NY. He went on to work in Florida high speed instrumentation photographer for the rockets that would carry the Apollo the moon. He and his family then settled down in New Jersey where he would eventually co-own Allplate Flexographics Corporation until his retirement. Upon retirement Edwin and his wife Janet moved to West Springfield, PA to be close to his son.

Edwin is survived by his wife, Janet; his son, Kirk Yearwood and his wife Tammy Yearwood of East Springfield; daughter Helene Yearwood of West Springfield; daughter, Janene Nusraty and her husband Fred Nusraty of Gaithersburg, MD. Edwin is survived by nine grandchildren and 1 great grand-daughter. At his own request there will be no memorial service.
