Dorothy Overberg

Dorothy E. Yernberg Overberg passed away at her home at the age of 81 on Friday, September 16, 2022.

She was born in Jamestown, NY on August 5, 1941 to the late Carl and Martha Nelson Yernberg.

Dorothy graduated from Jamestown High School. She worked for Plumpton Buick, Budget Rent A Car, Roth Cadillac, Macy’s Department Store, Northwest Savings Bank, and Sarah Reed Senior Living. She also volunteered at St. Vincent Hospital.

Dorothy was a member of the VASA Order of America and Independent Order of Vikings. She was also a member of Luther Memorial Church and former member of First Lutheran Church in Jamestown. She enjoyed going to the Erie Philharmonic and the Erie Playhouse. Dorothy was a people person who loved spending time with her family, working, shopping, traveling, and her cats.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, C. Richard Overberg.

Dorothy is survived by a daughter, Beth Keller (Jerry) of Erie; son, John R. Overberg (Katrina) of Fountain, CO; grandchildren, Tyler Keller, Anna Keller, and Lachlan McLane; and her cat, Rasputin.

Friends and family may call at Burton Quinn Scott Downtown, 602 West 10th St., Erie, PA 16502 on Wednesday, September 21 from 11 AM to 1 PM, to be followed by services at Luther Memorial Church, 225 West 10th St., Erie, PA 16501 at 1:30 PM. Private inurnment in Luther Memorial Columbarium.
