Dorothy Barry Allaire, age 88, of the Chestnut St. Apartments in Fairview passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the Golden Living Center-Western Reserve. She was born July 6, 1925 in Buffalo, NY the daughter of the late Edward and Edith Trusler Barry.
Dorothy was a graduate of Mercyhurst College and returned to the Erie area in 1994. She attended St. Joseph/Bread of Life Catholic Church and was a lifelong caregiver and supporter of family members and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard J. Allaire; a son Maurice Allaire, and by Boyd Baldwin.
She is the mother of Richard Allaire (Louise) of Boca Raton, FL; Barry Allaire (Rosalie) of St. Croix; Jeffrey Allaire (Sandy) of Branchport, NY; Christopher Allaire (Betsy) of Ft. Worth, TX; Stephen Allaire of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Matthew Allaire (Ellen) of Madiera Beach, FL; Andrew Allaire (Ann) of Orchard Park, NY; Alexander Allaire (Sybil) of Gainesville,GA; Dianne Allaire of Erie; Mary Pat Monaghan of Winder, GA; Leslie Wynn (Adam) of Statham, GA; and Margaret Allaire of Winder, GA. She is the sister of Margaret Brandt of Fredonia, NY and the grandmother of Jenny Remington, Stephanie Flores, Chris Allaire, Ashley Tammaro, Cassie McClung, Courtney Snyder, Jordon McClung, Erin , Nathan, and Christina Wynn, Mark Allaire, Jeffrey Allaire, Michael Allaire, Caitlin Allaire, Tim Allaire, Joshua Allaire, Jessica Allaire, Patrick Allaire, Ada Allaire, Ali Allaire, Davis Allaire, Sage and Michael Oliver. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
There will be no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph/Bread of Life Catholic Church. 147 W.24th St. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Nardin Academy, 135 Cleveland Ave., Buffalo, NY 14222 or to Harvest House Baby & Children Ministry, 175 Jefferson Ave., Buffalo, NY 14210. Arrangements by the John J. Quinn Funeral Home, West 9th & Liberty St.
