Audrey Young, age 94, of Findley Lake, New York and Niagara Village, formerly of Corry, Pennsylvania passed away July 14, 2021 at UPMC Hamot following a brief illness. She was born to George T. Patterson and Ava L. Mitchell Patterson on May 23, 1927.

She graduated with honors from Corry High School in 1945 and the Cadet Nursing Program at Hamot Hospital in 1948.

She worked at Hamot Hospital for several years before returning to Corry. She worked in surgery at Corry Memorial Hospital, was the director of nursing from 1966 until her retirement and was a member of the Pennsylvania Nurses Association.

She married Albert (Bud) F. Young at the Corry Presbyterian Church on July 17, 1954.

Audrey will be best remembered for her quick wit, sense of humor and hospitality. She was an excellent cook and housekeeper and a voracious reader. She loved Findley Lake and enjoyed dancing and fishing with her husband. Her hobbies included roller skating, knitting, telling stories, doing crossword puzzles, playing video games, solving cryptograms and playing BINGO at Niagara Village. She did everything to the best of her ability and was fiercely competitive when playing games.

She was preceded in death by her husband on October 15, 1993 and four sisters, Eleanor Roach, Jeanette Thompson, Elaine McMahon and Barbara Patton.

She is survived by daughters, Lea (Leslie) Strongheart, Connie (Jim) Neckers, of Hamilton Ohio and Tracy (Kevin T. Johnson), of Erie; seven granddaughters, Amy (Todd) Sidwell, Lisa (Syed) Ali, Katie (Dustin) Schwartzenberger, Sherry (Rob) Quatkemeyer, Zoey (Gary Burk) Johnson, Phoebe Johnson and Marlee (Ken Austin) Johnson; sixteen great grandchildren Rabeka, Rubyna, Mohammed, Ahmed and Sheema Ali, Olivia and Elizabeth Sidwell, Alex, Owen and Andy Schwartzenberger, Julia and Mikayla Quatkemeyer, Sabrina Vitale, Sebastian Pase, Atlas Austin and Sage Burk; sister-in-law, Jan Bemis and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends and family are invited to a Celebration Of Life Open House at the Findley Lake Community Center, 2883 North Road, Findley Lake, NY 14736, on Monday, July 19 from noon till five. A graveside service will be held at a later date with Pastor Connie Neckers, of the Vineyard Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services Inc Downtown, 602 W 10th St, Erie, PA 16502.
