Obituary/Notice

Audrey Lynn (Cross) Bretherton, age 78, of Erie passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021 at UPMC Hamot. She was born January 1, 1943 in Bradford, PA the daughter of the late George and Katherine (Egar) Cross.

Audrey was a graduate of Villa Maria College and for many years worked with the L’Arche community as a spiritual advisor and live- in house manager.

She was an avid reader and loved doing crossword puzzles. Audrey really enjoyed the holidays, and many times her home was filled with family and her extended L’Arche family from work.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Kyle Bretherton; a daughter, Patti A. Vasile; a brother Edward Cross, and two sisters; Janet Cross and Patricia Wallace.

Audrey is survived by her children; Karen Pencille, Jeffrey Troutman, and Walter T. Bretherton, all of Erie. She is the grandmother of Nicholas Vasile and Alexandria Bretherton, and is the sister of Nancy Copeland of Bradford, PA and Mary Jane DeArmitt of State College, PA.

Friends are invited to call at the Quinn Funeral Home, West 9^th & Liberty St. on Thursday, February 11, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 12 noon at which time Funeral Services will be held. All CDC guidelines including face masks and social distancing will be followed. Private burial will be in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
