Amy Lund

March 17, 1954 — May 4, 2021

Amy Susan Loveman Lund at the age of 67 passed at home surrounded by family on May 4th, 2021
She was born and opened her eyes on a cold but sunny day in Cleveland, Ohio on March 17, 1954, the youngest of three children. Amy grew up in Shaker Heights, Ohio where she attended the local public schools then graduated summa cum laude with a BA from John Carroll University, second in her graduating class.
While in high school, she met her future husband Peter S. Lund. They remained sweethearts through a long-distance romance and married in 1976, their spark of love continued for their 45 years. Sailing and traveling were favorite shared activities, with Amy always regarded as captain of the ship.
Soon after college, she started a series of careers. She supported her husband and growing family as an elementary school teacher while he attended medical school and residency training. Later she co-directed a nonprofit which brought professional children’s theatre into the Erie region. Then, went on to obtain her interior design degree and established her own interior design company, Haven Decor.
She was a relentless advocate for cancer prevention, research, and treatment. She would not hesitate to be a willing listener for those patients who needed an empathic ear. She had a special sensitivity for those women afflicted with breast cancer. This advocacy culminated with her work as president of the Erie unit of the American Cancer Society. She was also publicly recognized on several occasions for her work in cancer and other community activities.
Amy had significant a competitive spirit. All games were open season in her hunt for competition. She treated tennis as a blood sport, but always gracious with either winning or losing. When her physical condition limited her ability to play tennis, she turned her lust for competition to duplicate bridge. All family celebrations or parties included games and singing with Amy as the master-of-ceremony.
Most of all, Amy will be remembered for her loving and generous heart. Her friendships were deeply enduring, and family was an essential part of her soul. Some of her greatest joy came from her five grandchildren, which she endlessly spoiled.
Amy is preceded in death by her parents, Alan and Hannah Betty Loveman,
She is survived by her brother Donald Michael Loveman MD, her sister Patricia Loveman Dodson, her husband Peter Scott Lund MD, her children and their families, Peter Scott Lund Jr., Jennifer Toner Lund, Cody Allen Foust, Katherine Lund Foust DO, Alan David Lund, and Victoria Innis Lund. Her grandchildren include Simon James Lund, Lily Lynn Lund, Hannah Elizabeth Foust, Violet Lynn Lund, and Cassidy Alan Foust.
